Evernote has issued a new design and they want to bring the service to life after recent news of the changes to the free subscription and beyond. Here's our first look and insight into the new design release.
Evernote has quietly introduced a new look rolling out to users.
This will be rolling out to all users and has been since January 15th 2024, but you need to use the following link if you'd like to get early access. Use this sign up here link.
Largely, we have some opinions on this new Evernote look and what it means for the future of Evernote after the new owners Bending Spoons have hit the ground running with a series of statements on pricing, vision and beyond.
But first, let's look at what the new designs look like for Evernote in 2024.
Evernote is sending out a statement here.
We're changing. The last few months, with the free subscription plan changes, the pricing influx and the now change to their branding and vision of what Evernote looks like (more minimal, cleaner) they want Evernote to change and likely their users too.
Ever since Bending Spoons took over, we knew it was in with the old Evernote with the firing of the first batch of Evernote staffers and then the mass layoffs of everyone.
With the introduction of the new design, they to appeal to the mass market note-taking audience and non-hardcore productivity folk. As they roll out this desktop version and web version, I can see that in the next 2-3 months will be the focus on mobile, expanding the new fun, playful branding and an aggressive push towards building smart, useful AI features.
Remember, whilst Bending Spoons has taken over Evernote - they've been fixing the core of Evernote, the design and they'll put their energy into the AI feature side, yes, AI search is here, but from the look of Remini and Splice, the potential is massive for Evernote users.
The next 2-3 months will be exciting for Evernote, but sadly, the community aspect is gone and I'm sure it will ever be back to be honest, like it was in 2010 - 2015.
