What features does RemNote have?

Here are the best features of RemNote for students and note-takers:

Features

Helpful for

PKM Notes

RemNote is a powerful note-taking app that doesn't have to be used solely by students. Connecting notes (or rems) allows you to order and reference them within the text to build stronger relationships between notes. This works for those using PKM and students to bridge gaps between notes.

Daily Notes

It is perfect not only for task lists for the day but also for journaling as you go through your week. Connect up notes and bring in note references to make these daily notes stronger.

PDF Annotation

This ability to annotate PDFs is fantastic. Allowing you to leave notes inside of the PDF and connect anything related in your RemNote too. Perfect for highlighting and on desktop, easy to use and has side-by-side as you study.

File Uploads

Connect files to your notes, meaning better and more in-depth rems can be made in your account. Easily access them at the top of each of your notes, making it great for saving PPTs, slides, or email threads in an exportable format.

How does RemNote work?

RemNote allows you to create notes, also known as "Rems," to organize revision notes, ideas, and research in one place.

As a note-taking application, you can use RemNote to connect notes, create tables, create flashcards, and build your notes with linked notes for better and brighter revision. RemNote is typically used by students for this very reason. Notes aren't the only thing you can add to your RemNote; you can add PDFs and files and later (in premium) use these to highlight, add notes, and mark up, allowing you a side-by-side study companion.

Think of RemNote as the most advanced note-taking app for students. This is probably the best way to describe how RemNote works.

Pros

  • Unlimited flashcards
  • Easy-to-use features
  • Can extend to PKM use for post-college
  • Analytics for flashcards insights
  • Way to add daily notes for journaling

Cons

  • It can be expensive for a premium
  • Many people might find it overwhelming

Pricing:

RemNote costs $8 per month (billed annually) for premium. It is free to use and has no limits.

Is RemNote any good?

Yes, RemNote is reliable and fast. It has great features and is a decent offering for the free plan that any student should consider when bringing those notes in one place.

If you are a student, have some budget, and are open to learning new tools - I'd say this is probably if not one of the best note-taking applications out there for students to adopt and know right now. If you're trying to shy away from the Notion hype too.

Severely underrated

RemNote positions itself as an academic tool, but it's actually a great tool for life-long learning. Now you can disable flashcards, AI and other features making it feel like other normal note-taking app. Outliner first, ability to build dashboard, offline accessibility, PPP pricing and more! Super complete experience.

Effective for Flashcards, but Needs Better Mobile Experience

I use RemNote primarily to create flashcards that help me memorize study materials. One of the features I appreciate the most is the increasing integration of artificial intelligence, both for creating flashcards and simplifying the understanding of study materials. However, I find the mobile experience quite inconvenient and prefer using the desktop version.
