Apple have released Apple Journal now on iOS 16.2 allowing people to get a taste of journal app and what they can do with it everyday.
Apple Journal is now available on preview allowing you to download it and get started.
Apple Journal wants to be the place to store memories and write about them using Apple's smart suggestions which pools from the apps you use and help you write about moments that have happened including photos, workouts, locations, and much more.
You can also use prompts to help you create your daily entries.
This is what it looks like inside of Apple Journal, first off, you are prompted with the information that you want to submit or be offered up to Apple Journal for suggestions.
This will make the experience easier to use and uses AI to pool this information based on relevance and allows for a better experience, without this, Apple Journal is sort of just a basic notes application that you might not gain benefit from.
Next up, you enter the journal entry and you can base a journal entry off a suggestion. We got many suggestions that prompted based on exercise, recent photos and even photos taken one year ago, a prompt based on a friendship event and even a walk we did at the weekend, so the suggestions pool was well crafted.
We created an entry and got started. You could add voice notes, add images and anything new to each of the items too meaning you weren't solely reliant on the Suggestions.
Go to Settings > Software Update > Install iOS 17.2
Make sure you're happy with this and the next time you open your iOS device, the Apple Journal will be searchable and installed automatically.
