What is Notion?

Notion is an all-in-one productivity app for notes, project management, tasks, and calendar management. It is available for macOS, Windows, web, iOS, and Android. Although it is a complex tool, users can use the no-code layout to build workspaces for any scenario.

Notion has been a popular Evernote alternative.

What does Notion do?

Used by teams and individuals, Notion is one of the most popular productivity apps on the market. It allows you to organize your life and your team's knowledge.

Think of Notion as this open canvas, the paper in software form.

You create pages, and for each new page, you can create a new mini-app for your work. For example, if you want to create a way to track your holidays as a team, you can do that on a new page. Each page allows you unlimited opportunity thanks to the feature databases that allow users, once learned, to create a database that best suits them in a view that they think best fits their needs.

So you could have a calendar for all your upcoming content, or a list of the projects you need to work on, or maybe even a table (excel style) of all the new customers you're speaking with as your own mini CRM.

Notion is basically up to you on how you build it and that does take some education.

Building Pages

New Page in Notion, Notion Productivity App

Notion's page feature is at the core of its organizational power. Users can create and customise pages to structure and store any information they like. Pages act like containers for content; inside them, you can add text, images, tables, files, links, and more.

What is Notion Projects?

Notion Projects has essentially always existed. You can always manage your projects inside Notion using its wide range of connected features.

If you already use Notion, you'll understand this, however, if you're new to Notion, you've most likely been making your projects into smaller lists of tasks and going from there. Notion Projects is here to show you that managing projects can be much more (and better) than messy lists, it can all be consolidated into one place.

What Are Notion Templates?

Notion templates have been widely popular recently. Notion templates are pages or groups of pages that you can duplicate and add to your Notion workspace.

People like to use Notion templates because they save time learning the application's ins and outs. You can see which templates others in your industry are using or be inspired by people on YouTube to choose the best notion templates for your space.

How much does Notion cost per month?

Notion is free with unlimited blocks & pages, but there are some plans listed below:

Pro (Monthly)

$10 per month

AI add-on (Monthly)

Why Learn Notion?

Notion is one of the most flexible of productivity tools on the market and loved by millions. Notion presents an open canvas for whatever you want to build, from a simple habit-tracking tool to a complex project management system. This is something that people love and hate about Notion. People love the flexible nature of building whatever you'd like that suits your occasion, but others don't like having an out-of-the-box experience with Notion.

Like all things in life, there are always pros and cons, but many have taken to the internet and offerings to learn Notion from beginner to advanced. Many have even learnt Notion and now develop their own templates and courses to help people save time.

Notion: A Reliable Tool for Content Management

Notion is a versatile tool for content management that I've been seeking for a while. It's reliable, and its range of features is impressive. The ability to create and customize databases is particularly useful. Even with the free version, there's a lot you can accomplish, making it accessible to many users.

The Ultimate Tool for Teams and Adaptability

I’ve been using Notion for the past five years, and I honestly can’t imagine how any team can function without it. Every team and company is unique, and Notion lets you adapt the product to your specific needs, not the other way around. As someone always on the lookout for new tools, I haven’t found anything nearly as good. One downside is the push towards AI, which might not be for everyone, but on the bright side, the platform keeps getting faster and more efficient. Overall, Notion remains unmatched in versatility and functionality!

A feature rich and customizable tool with a learning curve to match

Notion is a great tool. It's feature rich with notes, productivity tools, databases, a calendar, you name it. Notion is also fully customizable. You can design a layout that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. It really is an all-in-one productivity tool and all for the low price of free for personal use. Syncing with Notion is instantaneous. You can type on a computer and watch it update live on a mobile app. While the customization is a selling feature, it is also what has stopped me from using the app in the past. I found myself spending too much time setting up Notion, watching countless videos because of the learning curve, always trying to find ways to tweak the design. In short, I spent more time with the productivity tool rather than being productive. Writing in Notion is okay. It will get the job done, but other apps do it better in my opinion and are a little more pleasing to the eye. I also like to switch between typed and handwritten notes, which isn't an option in Notion. Even though I stopped using it, that doesn't take away from how good Notion is. The free plan is a great value for everything you get. Just taking a moment to dive back into the app for this review has me wanting to give it a second chance.

Versatile All-in-One Tool

Using it for everything from note-taking to project management. It's a bit of a learning curve, but the customization options are endless. My entire biz and projects depends on it. I hope they brings the offline feature soon. After that its a solid 10.

Super Customizable note taking

Notion is the perfect tool for the people who love to create their own system. The way they explain their system as lego blocks is exactly how it works which is simple to understand but makes room for advanced workflows. It is feature rich and the team is always shipping more improvement. With the possibility of offline mode in alpha version in 2025, Notion is set to get even better.
