Whiteboards could be coming to Craft in the near future in an attempt to be more interactive than Notion and more like tools like AFFiNE Pro.
Craft has recently added the ability to use whiteboards as part of their beta experience, and it complements the use of Craft for creating beautiful documents. Not many people know Craft for the way you can create cards, make daily notes, and manage tasks, reminders, and attachments.
However, they have recently started testing something called whiteboards, which allows you to add a whiteboard as part of the document.
Currently, this is not a collaborative experience, but they likely plan to add this feature. Inside the whiteboards beta, you can move your cursor around, select items, create shapes, sticky notes, text, arrows, and use a pencil to navigate.
Although basic, this application is expected to gain more abilities soon.
Craft is planning to add several updates with the release of version 2.0, currently in beta. You can still add emojis and comments for later, keeping them as blocks as part of your document.
In this Craft whiteboards V2 experience, they plan to include image support, video support, different background options including dots, squares, and lines, localizations, and much more. This version appears cleaner, enabling easier navigation and smarter line features to better utilize the whiteboard experience.
Craft is gradually becoming more advanced, and the ability to add videos enhances it as a mood board-type experience for documents. This will be great for sharing with external parties, making it an exciting next chapter that is likely borrowing a lot from the professional sphere.
