Tana: Life Connected

For about three years, I’ve relied on Tana to organize my work and life. As a law school student, Founder & CEO of my business (Systematic You), a wife, and someone supporting my mom as she ages, I need a tool that connects the dots across all these roles. Tana’s unique connected nodes structure does exactly that, making it easier than ever to stay on top of everything. Why Tana Stands Out Most tools silo your work, personal, and family life. Tana breaks those walls by letting me: ◆ Connect business workflows to personal to-dos, balancing client deadlines with household tasks. ◆ Link my husband and mom’s appointments and reminders into the same system I use for law school deadlines, so nothing gets overlooked. ◆ Keep everything—work projects, schedules, notes—in one organized, dynamic space. Using Tana enabled me to create a system where all the parts of my life work together. How Tana Works for Me Tana’s linked structure is like a web where tasks, ideas, and notes naturally connect. For example: ◆ I can tag tasks for multiple contexts, like “Systematic You” and “law school,” to track overlapping projects. ◆ I can zoom in to focus on one role or see how everything intersects at a glance. ◆ It’s intuitive enough for day-to-day chaos yet structured enough to give clarity when I need it. A Tool for Real Life Tana is the first app that truly adapts to my life’s messy, interconnected nature. Other tools I’ve tried overcomplicate things or focus on just one area. Tana enhances the connections between all my roles, making my systems feel as dynamic as my life. If you’re juggling multiple responsibilities and need a tool that keeps up, Tana might be your perfect match.

My central hub for everything

For the last two years Tana has been the corner stone of my productivity - from journaling to project management, from product strategy to content creation, from personal to business content...it all lives inside Tana. Tana is an incredibly powerful tool that takes one thing extremely seriously: that knowledge is a web. Feom this crucial insights came many implications: backlinks, small and repeatably usable information chunks, and infinite composability. This sounds very heady and abstract, and it can be. What makes Tana stand out compared to everyone else is that it doesn't shrink from that core insight, but takes it and makes it approachable and usable for anyone who needs more than Apple Notes. If all you need is a flat to do list...skip Tana, just use Apple Notes. But if you need a tool that can _fully_ deal with the complexity of your life, ALL of it, then give Tana a try.

Tana: Flexibility and Power, without Compromise

Tana is typically described as an outliner and note-taking application. While that is true, it only scratches the surface. I would say the gateway drug to using Tana is capturing, organizing, and transforming information. But it's not just a note-taking app—it's a productivity hub and a no-code development platform rolled into one. I was VERY skeptical at first. "Everything apps" tend to promise the world, then utterly fail to deliver. I fully expected to abandon Tana after a week. That was almost two years ago. Tana has since become the central hub of my personal and professional life. It's my data storage center, my problem-solving toolkit, and my daily organizer. Month after month, I retire another tool because I discover a way to make Tana do that tool's job *at least* as well (but in the same place as everything else, instead of siloed in a separate tool). The magic of Tana lies in its flexibility and power. It’s designed to adapt to you—if you're willing to adjust how you think about using software. Tana enables you to be an active participant in designing your experience, rather than a passive consumer of it. While it is comparable to a slew of other tools when you observe surface-level operations, Tana exists on a different paradigmatic plane. Tana has redefined how I approach productivity and problem-solving. Whether you need a simple note-taking app, a robust task manager, or a way to build custom workflows without code, Tana delivers.

Tana is, without a doubt, the best note-taking app I’ve ever used.

The combination of structure (using nodes & supertags) and then the free-flowing nature of being able to capture notes anywhere in Tana makes it a powerful tool for getting things out of my head quickly & easily. And then being able to find them easily. I love that I can view my notes in several different ways depending on the situation. As a simple list or a complex calendar. Simple notes transform into powerful dashboards in just a few clicks. Supertags are a gamechanger. They allow you to capture notes anywhere in Tana, give them a tag, add additional structured information through fields and then find them later through live searches. This makes capturing information simple. It doesn't matter where something lives - as long as it's tagged you'll find it again later. Combine these powerful base features with things like voice capture + AI and you get a powerful work management platform. I love having AI integrated into the platform - rather than copying notes into another AI platform, I can work seamlessly with my notes and AI all in the same place. Tana just works how my brain works and I've been able to achieve more in the last 2 years with Tana as my daily driver than I could ever have imagined.

Fantastic PKM app, steep learning curve

This is not an easy tool to learn by any means, although once you figure out the basics you are only limited by your imagination! The first time I tried Tana the blank screen was intimidating and just doing anything seemed all at sea. The second time, however, I learned along with the Tana Fast Track course and this made it a breeze to not only get off Beginners Island but also fly like an eagle. Have never looked back and now have a growing PKM database full of notes I can find easily and see emerging trends from.
