It's boring and pretty and that's why I like it

Things 3 doesn't develop quickly. That's a feature. No need to learn new things or features. I bought the app. No subscription. It's still a great, clean-looking app. I don't want AI to help with my tasks and projects. I can easily and quickly add to-dos from the action button on the phone or a complication on my watch.

An absolute dream to use

I used ToDoist for 3 years before discovering Things3. I'm a iOS/MacOS exclusive power user. The way Things3 leverages keyboard shortcuts, tags, and project/areas makes it so easy for me to stay organized and on top of the 4 businesses I work in daily. If you're exclusive to the Apple Ecosystem, and you're looking for a beautiful, simple, to-do list app -- look no further.

Things 3 is my favourite to-do list app, all because of one simple feature.

I've tried many of the to-do list apps on the market, and they all more or less work the same (in my opinion), with the surface dressing altered slightly. Not so with Things 3. This app has one key feature that separates it from the rest of the competition, the addition of a due date. Things 3 allows you to add both the date you plan to work on a task as well as the due date for completion. This is essential for me as a lot of my tasks take multiple days to complete. I also never lose sight of the true deadline, and can more effectively schedule in buffer periods to allow for slippage. Compare this to the competitors in which you can only ever assign one date to a task, the date you plan to work on it. This is a crucial piece of information to be excluded from the majority of other apps. I was sold on Things 3 for this one feature as it just works so well for me. But aside from that, it's the best looking to-do list app I've used. It has a clean layout, beautiful colour scheme, and it is really fast. Syncing also works great across all my devices. I love how I can create projects within an Area and create headers within a project to organize my tasks. It allows for a very organized approach to task management. Templates are great for recurring projects, although I'm not the biggest fan of where they're stored. I wish they had a separate section to store them. The only issue I have that I would love to see fixed is the ability to create sub-areas within an Area, similar to how you can create headers in a project. It would take the organization of the app to the next level. The price can be a concern for some as the iOS, ipadOS and MacOS versions all have separate one time costs, it is still much better than buying into a subscription model for something you use everyday. For anyone in the Apple ecosystem, I highly recommend Things 3 for personal organization.

Love- hate relationship but it's really good in the end

The fact that this app stirs so many emotions in this world's forums and YouTube channels is a sign of the ambivalence surrounding this wonderful app. Back in the day, things were a lot easier. There was OmniFocus for the really big and overwhelming task needs. And then there was Things for the rest of us. Neat, clean, with an opinionated approach to repeating tasks and some syncing issues. But drop-dead beautiful simplicity from the start (which back then meant only hints of skeuomorphic accents). Things has evolved into one of the most Apple-like apps: All the features they adopt are bulletproof, the price is steep but is totally worth the one-time investment, and the limitations are, in the end, what makes the App so easy to use, my feedback- articulated longing for real calendar integration and real sub-tasks bluntly ignored.

A beautifully crafted walled experience

An ode to design aesthetics, locked behind the apple walled garden. A joy to use but slow development.

Things 3 is the best personal to-do list app I've used, with a simple, effective design

**Things 3 is simply the best to-do list app I've ever used** (considering personal use and not for teams or multiple people, as the app doesn't offer shared list features). Things 3 is a very well-built app, with an extremely effective, simple, and functional design. It's excellent at everything it sets out to do. I've tested other apps of the same type, many of them with far more features than Things 3, but I just can't adapt to them—it feels like this app was made for me. At the moment, the only feature I miss is location-based reminders.

Fast and tidy app

Beautiful interface. No clutter at all Fast input and clever rescheduling Only gripe, the steep desktop app price(although it’s a one time purchase)
