Is Smartsheet a suitable platform for your team

Smartsheet is much more of a customisable software for much larger teams and can scale from smaller scenarios all the way to FTSE-100 companies who use it to better manage more tailored project management jobs. But is it worth it for your team?

Smartsheet is an enterprise level project management software designed for large teams.

What does Smartsheet do?

Smartsheet works like a project management software with more power packed behind it for larger teams. Smartsheets packs in so many features and very simply allows you to handle pretty much every aspect of the project management process, like Excel merged with a more modern project management software, but still with Excel's design inspiration.

Best Smartsheet Features

There are so many features within Smartsheet that we could talk about:

• Broad Range of Views - Whilst all the views aren't the best looking compared to tools like ClickUp and monday.com, Smartsheet offers a good set of views like card, gantt, calendar & table.
• Proofing - Much like Wrike, a good way to get started proofing images and files. There's actually a sub-experience called Brandfolder that connects with Smartsheet that helps you manage the whole system of design sharing too.

Smartsheet Cons

As this was much more suitable for enteprise customers, here's what we didn't like:

• Resource Management - There resource management system for managing employee's schedules is something you need to contact Smartsheet about to get it added or bolted onto your account, whereas other tools make this much more accessible.

Is Smartsheet Right For My Team?

Unless you have a much larger team between 50 - 250+ people, then Smartsheet might not be suitable for you. Smartsheet isn't the most attractive looking of project management software, but it does offer offer incredible amounts of functionality.

Smartsheet might be suitable for a small team or medium sized business as they do offer pricing and functionality plans for this, but it feels like it really is much more tailored for a more advanced use case, thanks to the focus on custom views and WorkApps that you can build your team's case-by-case basis and projects.

A very advanced project management software, packed as a lackluster upgrade to Excel.
